Classrooms are not the best place to learn grammar. It is better to learn on your own with a strong sense of motivation, a sense of urgency like an immigrant.

Why learn grammer when learning a foreign
language? Illegal immigrants come here to
England and within next to no time are
making themselves understood in most
situations. To sit in a classroom does
not seem to be a rapid way to learn.

It seems somebody took a dictionary and just wrote the first translation he found..
“lien” is a bond indeed but like in “a bond between people”, it also means link. But it has nothing to do with the financial bond.
“équité” means fairness.
“avenir” means future but like in “the future of our children”, it has nothing to do with the financial product..
And so on..

Bond – obligation
Equity – action
Futures – futures
Insider dealing/trading – délit d’initiés
IPO – introduction en bourse
Issue – émission
Trader – trader, operator en bourse

Bonjour is the safest way of saying hello in French.

Bonjour Monsieur Smith …. is even better.

Je m´appelle John – My name is (I call myself)

Je suis heureux(se) de faire votre connaissance – I am happy to meet you.

Je voudrais présenter …. – Is I more formal way to say, I would like to introduce Mr. Miller…
Enchante – is a very formal way of saying it is nice to meet you. I do not know if you want to use it, but I say it.
comment allez-vous? – how are you? This is formal. Remeber vous is the formal form in French.
So maybe these help. It is better to keep it simple and learn a couple good ones as you might be stressed and fumble if you know too much. You could even use some home made flashcards to practice.

What is the best way to say hello to the CEO of my company. We are a US division and the French president is coming to visit. If I see him how do I say hello. I’m just an ordinary office worker and I want to be respectful.
